TreatSMA take part in the Royal Holloway’s Annual Rare Disease Day (online) event

Today TreatSMA took part in the Royal Holloway’s Annual Rare Disease Day (online) event speaking to students about Uni Life and Rare Disease. It was great to spread awareness of SMA and rare diseases and also answer some great questions!

Rare Disease Day helps us to continue finding ways to work together with other rare disease organisations. In 2021 the Day aims to improve knowledge of rare diseases amongst the general public while encouraging researchers and decision makers to address the needs of those living with rare diseases.

    This year the Managed Access Agreement for Spinraza and Risdiplam expires. The MAA was put in place five years ago so the pharmaceutical companies could gather more evidence to resubmit to NICE for approval on the NHS with Biogen extending their MAA by a year.
